Lilian is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with an MFA in Creative Writing and a past teaching caree. In high schools, colleges, and prisons, she's taught her students to discover their inner lives as worthy of narrative and rich in meaning. In private practice, she helps folks with complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and grief. With an Internal Family Systems approach, she guides clients through the journey to heal themselves from within by finding and giving deep witness to their own wounds. Lilian wants to share with you what it feels like to slow down and show up for yourself. What happens inside you matters. It makes sense when you turn inward, acknowledge it with respect, and work with it. Through Lilian's talks and meditations, you can find your wounded parts, come to understand why they are there and what past experiences they hold. You can tend to them. Finally someone is there to listen and truly see them. That someone is You. And when you take care of your wounds, you free other parts—the ones that have tried to protect you through numbing, self-harm, addiction, rage, people-pleasing, perfectionism. Even the part that shames you may no longer need to do so, if your most hidden wound is found and helped. This inner work is available to you, as you are, right now.
About Lilian
Brief Help Videos
Together, the Here You Are videos serve as an introduction to the more extensive work you’d do in sessions with a therapist who uses IFS-based methods. I want to give you a sense of what it’s like to go inside and work with your parts—even though I can’t give you personal guidance in response to your moment-by-moment experience. In any of the videos and meditations, there will be prompts and questions that don’t apply—let these flow by and stay with what is actually happening inside you. What you notice about your experience in the inner world is more important information than anything I might say.
Mental Health Courses
This section is under construction, as all Insight Timer content is free audio tracks at this time. Courses include live, interactive sections, along with talks and guided meditations on topics such as grief, anxiety, depression, shame, and complex trauma.
Guided Inner-Work Meditation
These guided meditations—companions to the Here You Are Therapy videos—use an Internal Family Systems approach to help you understand that your behavioral or mood symptom (anxiety, depression, etc.) is intelligent. (If you’re new to inner work, use this brief intro meditation to help you get oriented: …….) I will guide you into your inner world to find the part of you that is responding to your current or past life with this symptom. As you respect this part and learn why it's there—what it wants you to know, what it needs, or what wound it carries—you begin a relationship with it. Even simply recognizing your part in this meditation can change how you experience your symptom.
Each 16-20-minute meditation introduces you to the more extensive work you’d do in sessions with a therapist who uses IFS-based methods. I want to give you a sense of what it’s like to go inside and work with your parts—even though I can’t give you personal guidance in response to your moment-by-moment experience. There will be prompts and questions that don’t apply—let these flow by and stay with what is actually happening inside you. What you notice about your experience in the inner world is more important information than anything I might say.
